The Food

Taking the concept of street food, where enticing food is sold from vendors and carts, Manila Budapest seeks to highlight the best of Asian and Hungarian comfort food. Currently we are based in Church Street, in the Crieff Connexions building and are opening on Fridays 4:00-10:00pm.

The Chefs

Manila Budapest is served by two chefs who are inspired by their home countries' food.

Mary Jane is a native of the Philippines and also has Chinese roots. Her family ran a food factory in Manila, and they help to introduce Chinese products such as hopia (a bean filled moon cake) to the Filipino market. She has traveled extensively around Asia, sampling the best food the continent has to offer.

Laszlo is native to Hungary and has worked alongside Hungarian chefs. He trained to become a chef in Scotland and has worked with many hotel brands such as Hilton, and is currently a chef for the five-star, renowned Gleneagles Hotel. Aside from Hungarian food he is experienced in cuisines such as Hungarian, Scottish, Indian and some Asian foods.
